I think there’s going to have to be some form of adjustment to the way pro-choice ad pro-life campaigners talk to one another because right now it’s too dualistic, too black and white, too one sized fits all….. Where Will the Sick Fall? Pence amendment

Disagree or agree?

….people don’t realize (or fail to acknowledge) that 90 percent of the care provided by Planned Parenthood is preventative primary care intended to prevent unplanned pregnancy and to screen for diseases like cervical and breast cancer. Federal support through Title X allows agencies to provide this care to low-income women who would otherwise go without it.

What Does the Pence Amendement do for lower income women?

In a 240-185 vote, the the House approved H.R. 1, also known the Pence Amendment, which restricts funding for Planned Parenthood. Let’s forget the abortion debate (I know that’s impossible), and let’s focus on basic health care provisions. Those who will be affected the most are the least among us who are fighting to stay afloat (and some who’ve fallen underwater).

To these women the only chance they have for healthcare provision is Planned Parenthood. Your thoughts? Continue reading
